Our COVID Hero Tom is invited to the House of Lords!

Tom Allen from Steps Rotherham is invited to the House of Lords

We are so proud to share that our Great British Care Awards COVID-19 Hero winner, Tom Allen, was invited to attend a special celebratory event at the House of Lords this week.

The reception was a unique opportunity to recognise support workers who have gone above and beyond their roles during the pandemic, demonstrating incredible acts of bravery and resilience. Tom's invite happened off the back of him winning COVID Hero at the Great British Care Awards regional finals. He joined other guests at the exclusive event who included industry leaders, healthcare charities and fellow inspirational frontline workers.

The VIP afternoon tea, hosted by Lord Palmer of Childs Hill, also featured guest speakers including National Care Group's board member, Professor Martin Green, of Care England.

Tom said "It was really interesting to meet, talk to and listen about other support worker's experiences during the COVID 19 pandemic."

I was really proud to have won my regional award and to have been invited to the House of Lords, but have said from the moment I was shortlisted that I share the recognition with and dedicate my award to all the people I support at Steps Rotherham and of course - my fellow colleagues."

Huge well done to Tom, the Executive Team and all colleagues at National Care Group are so proud of his achievements and to have him on the team.
