Back in November, Registered Manager of Wellington Support, Wendy Khan, received short notice from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) of the inspection of her four registered services in Northamptonshire.
National Care Group is delighted to report that Wendy and the team received an overall rating of ‘Good’, consistently scoring highly in each of the five categories CQC report on at every service.
Wellington Support was acquired by National Care Group in 2021 and provides services to adults aged 18 years and over, supporting them to make progress towards greater independence after spending time within mental health or other care settings. The team at Wellington works within the framework of National Care Group's progression model, working collaboratively with the people we support to plan how they will achieve the quality of life and the personal goals most important to them.
James Allen, Chief Executive Officer said, “I’m grateful for the hard work, passion, and commitment of the team, with the backing of our wider operational and management colleagues across National Care Group. Striving to help the people we support to achieve their aspirations while maximising their independence, is a shared goal that clearly impressed the CQC inspectors at each of the three inspections. Ratings such as this help to reinforce our confidence that we are making a real difference to the lives of those we support.”

Wendy, who began her career as a Registered General Nurse and Mental Health Nurse before completing her Registered Manager qualifications, moved to manage the services in 2016. It's through her passion for caring for people with complex mental health needs that she and the team has ensured the services are performing highly, providing quality service to the people we support. They are focused on maximising their independence and the successful reports are testament to her and the team's dedication to this outcome.
Wendy commented, “I was delighted to receive the great news from CQC following our inspections. I am really proud of my team who fully deserve this recognition for their hard work and truly putting people at the heart of the service." Wendy also said "I was also delighted to read the positive comments from the people we support in the report. The atmosphere has to be positive”, says Wendy. “The people we support have to feel happy and safe – it’s their home, after all, and it’s a privilege for us to work here with them.”
