NEW ADULT SOCIAL CARE PARTNERSHIP
WORKING TOWARDS A WORLD WITHOUT WASTE
Adult social care provider, National Care Group (NCG) has today announced a partnership with one of the UK’s leading resource management consultancies, Click Waste, part of the Novati group, to improve recycling and waste management as set out in their new sustainability strategy.
Announced on World Earth Day (22 April), the new partnership is just one of the commitments in the organisation’s new strategy to unlock change for a brighter future across its portfolio of 66 residential sites and offices, and within the communities in which it operates.
Leading consultancy, Novati, puts innovation at the centre of everything they do towards supporting partners on their journey to net zero. Their Click Waste business operates nationally, empowering over 4,000 customers to reduce their contribution to landfill.
Launched today at NCG’s operations office in Daventry, the partnership will ensure better management and organisation of waste, increased recycling, and will significantly reduce contributions to landfill. NCG will have access to a portal to monitor the weights of the different types of waste recycled each week and the ability to report on what has happened to that waste.
The innovative new way of working will build on some of the great sustainability initiatives already happening at NCG’s services across England and Wales. Many NCG colleagues and the people supported are passionate about recycling, upcycling, and litter picking including attendance at beach cleans and various community projects.
Arthur, a person supported at Regent Road, an NCG service based in Staffordshire, said:
“I’ve always been very conscious of recycling everything I can and have a system set up to ensure we recycle as much as possible at Regent Road. Landfills are suffocating our planet. The more we recycle, the less hazardous landfills become so I am excited to start using the new bins to recycle even more!”
The new waste management scheme is just one in a plan of environmental sustainability projects that NCG’s Estates Team will support.
