OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD | May's Winner

Congratulations to National Care Group's South East Regional Operations Manager, Tara Fewster, South East Regional Operations Manager!

Tara was nominated by regional operations manager Jill Hopcroft who nominated Tara for the way her passion for supporting people goes beyond the remit of her role.

Tara receiving her award from National Care Group COO, Karen Lewis

Particularly, her commitment to helping a person we support who had become isolated due to his escalated behaviours. Tara worked with Jesse to understand his behaviours, as well as social services, his family and colleagues.  She spent time supporting Jesse and really getting to know him as a person and his personal goals.

Tara also supported colleagues to help them understand Jesse and his challenges. Tara’s commitment to this has resulted in the team being confident with him and has led to a calmer, more fulfilled Jesse.

Tara has developed such a bond with Jesse and has supported him with achieving so many of his goals, including taking him on a holiday he had been dreaming of for a long time.

Tara’s dedication to improving the life for Jesse and all the other people we support in her region is outstanding and why she is recognised by receiving this award.

Well done Tara and congratulations to all National Care Group colleagues nominated in May for their outstanding performance:

Lesley Meyhew, Highlea Care: Lesley was nominated by registered manager Julie Cowens for going over and above to empower two people we support to engage with the local motorcycle club. They were welcomed by all the club members and were invited to become members themselves. It has been significant to their confidence and community integration.

Jane Fairbairn & Kim Williams, Cornerstones 10 High Street: Nominated by registered manager Shaun Smitherman for the way they handled poor service they were given by the local bus company. When they were refused boarding of the bus when out with a person we support in a wheelchair, Jane and Kim empowered change to happen by taking action which the company addressed.

The Oaklea Care Team: Nominated by Amy Stephenson who, after some time away from Oaklea, had observed such improved passion and a better culture being demonstrated by the team. They have worked hard to encourage the people we support to achieve many of their goals and empowered them to be more involved in activities to help learn new skills.

Bev Phillips, Regent College: Nominated by Amy Both for the caring and nurturing way she works with all learners at the college and towards her colleagues. She consistently empowers everyone to achieve their best and always presents all the National Care Group values in her work practice.

National Care Group is extremely proud of all nominated colleagues and thanks them for performing to the values of Passion, Empowerment, Respect & Collaboration.
