Meet Georgia, People Team Apprentice, age 17
Georgia joined the National Care Group Academy aged 16 on leaving school. Georgia is currently studying for her Level 3 Business Administration qualification with an online tutor whilst working full-time in the People Team. Georgia's time is balanced between supporting Learning & Development colleagues with their e-learning platform as they deliver training to the 2,400 colleagues across National Care Group, and supporting HR colleagues with the induction of new starters, and all general administration areas of running a busy People Team.
Georgia said; "From day one I have felt welcomed and valued. My first week was great, I had a schedule of meetings and activities that really helped me to get to know the role. I love being part of both sides of the People Team I work for, they are both really interesting areas and the people I work with are so positive."
Georgia builds her studies into her full time role. She has the flexibility to complete course work when there's time during the working day.
Georgia said; "I would say to anyone considering an apprenticeship to go for it, its 100% worth it. Especially at National Care Group, you will be supported, appreciated and recognised. The transition from school to work has been unbelievable for me, I love getting paid while getting work experience and a good qualification - all at the same time!"
Roxanne Blamire, Georgia's line manager, said; "It's been great to have the support of a direct report and I have really appreciated the extra help that Georgia has provided. I've loved seeing Georgia grow, she just picks things up so quickly. She got to know our e-learning system really fast and has now adopted ownership of it so much so, she teaches me how to use it!".
