A big thank you for the learners and staff at Regent College

Our learners and staff at Regent College, Stoke on Trent, have received a big thank you for all their fundraising efforts in the run up to Christmas.

As a part of their learners’ volunteer projects they decided that they wanted to raise money for Guide Dog puppies and a local Children’s Cash Appeal - ‘Cash for Kids' that raises money for families struggling at Christmas time.

Not to be deterred by the National Lockdown making it impossible for them to hold their Christmas Craft Fair, the learners decided they would create a catalogue and take their craft fair direct to their friends and families. The catalogue was tremendously successful with the college raising £290.00 which has now been split between their two chosen charities.

John Stratton, Regional Charity Manager for Cash for Kids wrote to the Regent College learners to say: “THANK YOU SO MUCH! We are only able to do the work we do with support from amazing people like yourselves. During this difficult time we appreciate this even more. Your donation helped us make sure children who were at risk of receiving no gifts at Christmas, had a smile on their faces on Christmas morning. These children have had a tough year and need us more than ever right now. Your donations really do make a difference!"

Wendy Williams, Principal at Regent College added: “I am so proud of all our learners and staff who, despite the difficulties of the lockdown, rose to the challenge and showed so much creativity and determination to raise money for their chosen charities.
