Our services in Broadstairs celebrate new rating!
Endurance Care Broadstairs and Cleveland House, both based in Kent, are celebrating the recent upgrade of their Care Quality Commission (CQC) rating to ‘Good’ overall following inspections which took place in April 2025.
Inspectors found their services ‘Good’ across all inspected areas; Safe, Effective, Responsive, Caring and Well-led.
Safe
Relatives of people supported by Cleveland House told inspectors they thought people were safe at the service.
A relative said, “We are kept informed by the staff and are confident to raise any concerns we have. If we have any little worries, we speak to staff, and they always get straight back to us.”
Effective
The inspectors attending Endurance Care Broadstairs looked at how people access their local community. They spoke to colleagues who said:
“If they want to do it, we will find the safest way to do it without restrictions.”
Caring
The inspectors used the previous rating to score this element of the inspection. Their last report stated that the team at Cleveland House understood people’s preferences and the importance of adhering to their daily routines.
A relative commented that the team knew their relative’s likes and dislikes, commenting that, for example, their relative always wore a “light long-sleeved shirt, not a t-shirt.”
Responsive
The inspectors used the previous rating to score this element of the inspection. Their previous report described how Endurance Care enabled people and those important to them to be involved in developing the service. People could have visitors whenever they wished, or have friends stay over in the accommodation. People chose their key worker and had the opportunity to attend and comment on how support was provided at house meetings.
Well-led
The inspector reported that policies were in place at both services to promote equality, diversity and inclusion. The team members spoken to thought they were treated equally, and their cultural heritage was embraced.
One colleague said; “Staff from different backgrounds bring different experiences”.
There was a Nigerian evening recently for the team in Kent. They told the inspectors that there were no barriers due to age. One colleague said:
“I feel my experience is valued and there are opportunities for development if I want them.”
“We’re incredibly proud of this outcome. The report reflects the collaboration and genuine passion shown by the team every day — not just for these inspections, but for the people we support. This was a real team effort, and I’d especially like to thank everyone across National Care Group support functions who helped us to prepare, responded quickly, and simply had our best interests at heart. It’s been a shared success — and I am so thankful!”
