Supporting Animals in Need

The people we support continue to support a local wildlife charity

The people we support at Endurance Care Kings Lynn have been supporting animals in need by making donations to a local wildlife charity.

Runham Wildlife Rescue, a wildlife rehabilitation centre run by a small number of volunteers who get injured wildlife back into nature, issued a call-out to the local Norfolk community asking for food and bedding donations for the animals in their care.

Mark Palmer is the Service Manager at Endurance Care. He is extremely passionate about giving back to the community and encouraged the people we support and colleagues to support the local charity’s appeal.

He explains:

“We love animals at the service, and it is a sure-fire way of getting engagement from everyone we support.

“We donated some animal bedding and food to Runham Wildlife Rescue, a local charity that does admirable work! They capture and rehabilitate deer, foxes, badgers, hedgehogs, swans, and an array of weird and wonderful animals. They even have a skunk!

“I supported Megan, a person we support, to drop off the donations. She has been touched by the gesture and is keen to continue fundraising to support the charity.”

We asked Megan why she likes helping animals and what she likes about engaging with them. She even has ideas on what the service should do for their next fundraiser to support the charity.

She told us:

“I don't like seeing them ill or hurt. I have always loved animals. I used to horse ride too. Animals make me feel warm and fuzzy.

“I think a summer fete would be good, which has a tombola. Or a sponsored bake / swim would be a good idea.”
