Phase one of investment into a major refurbishment project at Ashbrook Neuro Rehabilitation, in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, has reached completion.
The kitchen, garden, and treatment room have been carefully upgraded and modernised to meet the needs of individuals requiring neurorehabilitation and to be more functional for colleagues.

Kitchen transformation
The kitchen has undergone significant improvements to create a more accessible and efficient space for both the people we support and colleagues.
By removing walls, the kitchen is much more functional. Previously, it was a small space divided into three separate rooms.
The space has been modernised with the addition of a new standing-height oven, along with a rise-and-fall sink and hob. The benefit of these appliances enables the people we support to participate in cooking as part of their rehabilitation.
A breakfast bar has also been installed to provide colleagues with a dedicated space for lunch.
An accessible garden for all
The outdoor space has been transformed to create a more engaging and relaxing environment for the people we support at Ashbrook Neuro Rehabilitation.
Part of the outdoor space has been made into a sensory garden, providing a relaxing area for everyone to enjoy, including the addition of two benches.
New planters have been installed, encouraging wildlife to visit the garden and allowing individuals to enjoy nature. The space also now has an area to plant shrubs and flowers.
Patios have been jet-washed, slabs re-laid, and fences have been freshly painted, all of which contribute to improving the overall look and feel of the outdoor space.
Treatment room upgrades
The treatment room at Ashbrook Neuro Rehabilitation has been redesigned to create an improved medical area for the on-site qualified registered nurses.
By removing a wall, it has created a bigger and more efficient space. It was previously a small space, leaving nurses with a challenging place to work.
The installation of more cupboards for medical supplies and paperwork has also helped to enhance the environment for colleagues.
