National Care Group Celebrates Successful Completion of Development Programme in Wiltshire, Paving the Way for Future Partnerships

National Care Group, one of the UK’s leading adult social care providers for adults with learning disabilities, mental health diagnoses, acquired brain injuries, and autistic people, has completed a development programme in partnership with Wiltshire Council. Four brand-new supported living schemes have opened in the past year.

Developed in response to local demand in the region, the modern new properties have empowered 14 people with learning disabilities and additional support needs to live more independently and become active citizens in their local communities. The new specialist services have also created approximately 30 jobs in the county.

The most recent new home for young adults opened in February in Trowbridge. National Care Group collaborated with Wiltshire Council and Golden Lane Housing to develop a house that meets the needs of four new tenants, with three already having moved and settled into their new home.

Joe is one of the first new tenants to move into the latest development. He is supported by colleagues from Cornerstones Supported Living, a local business owned by National Care Group, to attend social appointments, achieve his personal goals and develop his independent living skills.

National Care Group partnered with Wiltshire Council and housing partners, including Inclusion Housing CIC, Golden Lane Housing and Falcon Housing Association, on the full programme of developments. The new supported living homes are part of Wiltshire Council’s long-term investment in response to feedback from parents, carers, and young people, who were asked about their needs and any gaps in provision.

The new developments are designed to ensure that people supported by the adult social care provider can create a home for themselves and become part of their local community while still getting the expert support they need.

"Ensuring that people can lead rich and fulfilling lives within their community is at the heart of what we do. The strong partnership formed with Wiltshire Council has enabled us to work collaboratively to develop much-needed services that meet local needs.

"Through careful planning, we have worked closely with housing partners to create high-quality services that allow people to remain in their local area, close to family and support networks.

"We are excited to see the most recent tenants settle into their new homes and become active members of the community. The success of this partnership paves the way for future opportunities as new developments and properties become available, allowing us to continue making a meaningful difference."

Victoria Bayley from Wilshire Council visited the brand-new supported living home in Trowbridge to meet the new tenants:

"We are incredibly proud of how our investment in these new developments has supported young adults in increasing their independence within the Wiltshire community. It’s been rewarding to meet some of the new tenants in Trowbridge and hear how their new home has impacted their lives positively.

"Our successful partnership with National Care Group has helped us deliver against the objectives of our Business Plan, which aim to ensure that people are empowered to live full, healthy, and happy lives."

National Care Group continues to deliver on its growth strategy and is committed to providing the best quality support for adults with specialist support needs.
