The support
At Summerwood, we encourage the people we support to take an active role in their lives by helping them carry out day-to-day tasks. To develop confidence and promote social inclusion, we help everyone seek new activities and experiences both locally and in the wider community. We offer a range of activities, including pet therapy, visiting owls and dogs, BBQs, picnics, and parties, and we also hold various events. Everyone has a choice of where to go and what to do, including on annual holidays and weekend breaks. A break away allows people to interact with new friends in new surroundings and helps develop their social skills.
The properties
Summerwood offers highly flexible accommodation, including two semi-independent flats, which can be used as either a stepping stone to more independent living or for a high-needs service.
The location
Located in Ashley, a small village close to the thriving town of New Milton, the home is close to the New Forest National Park and beaches of Barton-On-Sea, Highcliffe and Lymington. The house itself is situated within walking distance of local bus services to Bournemouth, Southampton and other places of interest. Also close by are local shops, churches, green spaces, a pub and a hairdresser/barber.
