The support
Springvale Resource Centre is a specialist neurological service providing residential support for adults following a brain injury or with a neurological condition in Middleton. Our progression model offers transitional, long-term support living in a well-equipped residential environment.
When supporting people through post-acute rehabilitation, we aim to promote and maintain optimum independence and choice through a personalised support plan, or GAS (goal attainment scaling). The plan is written and reviewed in consultation with the person we support to help them maintain their optimum goals by managing their specific needs.
With a focus on cognitive impairment, we have individual support guidelines covering functions such as attention, memory, information processing, and executive skills. We also work with SASNOS, a tool that establishes areas requiring more support, such as relationships, social skills, and behaviour.
We support the following diagnosis:
> Traumatic brain injury
> Stroke
> Parkinson's disease
> Mental health
> Brain tumours
> Multiple sclerosis
> Motor neurone disease
> Huntington's disease
> Physical disabilities
The properties
There are three en-suite bedrooms and one bedroom with an adjacent shower room. We have two well-equipped communal areas and a private garden. The service is wheelchair accessible.
The location
Springvale is situated in the heart of Middleton, on the outskirts of Manchester.
The people we support can enjoy all the amenities the local area has to offer and be as active as they wish in their vibrant and accessible local community.
