National Care Group Service

Phoenix House

Phoenix House is a rehabilitation service created to support males aged 18 years and above to make progress towards greater independence after they have spent time within mental health or other care settings.

  The support

Phoenix House is a rehabilitation service created to support males aged 18 years and above to make progress towards greater independence after they have spent time within mental health or other care settings. Some gentlemen will probably only need to stay for a few months, while others may seek a longer-term arrangement.

The team at Phoenix House aims to provide a safe and supportive environment where people can improve their quality of life, develop their strengths, and achieve the goals that are important to them. Everyone has the opportunity to plan their therapeutic programme with the support of their team. This will include everything necessary and relevant to other measures that may be in place, such as Community Treatment Orders (CTO) or Conditional Discharge requirements.

Everyone is encouraged by the team to maintain their hygiene and the care of their environment to a high standard and to be an active partner in all aspects of the care of their physical health. The people supported are also encouraged to develop their weekly routine, which will include educational programmes, work or volunteering skills, leisure, and hobbies.

  The properties

Phoenix House is a three-storey building with 16 bedrooms. The ground floor comprises three bedrooms, a kitchen/dining room, lounge, games room, and quiet room. The Nurse's office is also on the ground floor. The clinic is on the first floor, with six bedrooms and seven on the top floor. The front of the house overlooks the racecourse, which is also a large park and sports venue. The single-story building at the back of the house is the Manager's office. It also has a boardroom, which is used for meetings and team training.

  The location

Phoenix House is close to Northampton city centre and public transport links. Northampton has plenty of culture, sport and history to keep everyone busy, should they wish. A short walk from Phoenix House, they can be right in the city's centre with artisan coffee shops and themed restaurants in abundance. The people living here also benefit from having local amenities on the doorstep, including plenty of supermarkets to grab a weekly shop.
