Fun, fundraising and community spirit
The team at Links Day Services and the young adults who attend work together to choose a charity to raise funds for each month. Each charity has a meaningful and special link to a member of the Links family.
Over the past year, they have baked, crafted, dressed up, and dug deep for several charities, including Marie Curie, Comic Relief, and the Eve Appeal, successfully raising a grand total of £750 by end March 2025.
Putting the fun into fundraising
Their fundraising activities are both educational and a lot of fun. In June 2024, everyone wore costumes of their favourite superheroes to raise money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. And in October, everyone dressed in red to raise funds and awareness of gynaecological cancers.
Supported by Service Manager, Nicola Pike-Hulme, and seniors Louise Wright and Beth McGlade, monthly fundraising was the idea of Activities Support Worker, Kerry Crawford.
“It's a great team effort, by past and present team members. We all get behind the cause, and we all know, as tough as finances and life are at the moment, that we are all lucky to have roofs over our heads and our health, etc.
- Kerry Crawford
