Meet Callum, our 2025/26 Outstanding Achievement Award Winner

Our Executive Team judges awarded Callum maximum points in the monthly Outstanding Achievement Awards programme. His was one of only two nominations to achieve the highest score during the 2025/26 period.

Callum went on to win the overall award, an accolade that forms part of the National Care Group Annual Awards celebrations. He will now join the Executive Team and other annual award winners at their celebration day in October.

An outstanding nomination

Callum, a support worker across our Integra services in Wales, received a nomination for an award in March 2026 from Registered Manager, Rebecca.

Rebecca nominated Callum for the exceptional professionalism he demonstrated just weeks into his role.

Callum supported people to keep safe and well during an extreme incident by reacting with an informed and compassionate approach. He calmly de-escalated a difficult and challenging situation, acting swiftly to safeguard those involved.

Despite being new to his role, Callum also passionately challenged external practitioners to secure the right pathway for a person who was too unwell to speak for themselves. This type of situation, Rebecca said, often intimidates even the most experienced colleagues.

"Callum is full of enthusiasm and passion to progress. He wants to make a real difference. He quickly found his feet and made a strong impression on his colleagues and those we support."

"It was his ability to remain calm in a difficult situation, especially as a newcomer. Being able to communicate thoroughly and effectively with other professionals and individuals in the home, better than some qualified nurses on acute wards. Callum acted competently and quickly to safeguard the individuals and to get them the support they needed."

Callum's words

When asked what drives him, Callum said, “I have dealt with circumstances both professionally and personally that have given me compassion within the sector.”

Callum felt humbled when he learned of his nomination for an Outstanding Achievement Award. He said, I am just doing my job. Keeping people well, safe and happy is a part of that. I don’t know how to support people any other way.

Rebecca ended with, “We are so pleased that Callum is part of Integra. It gives us faith and optimism about the future of care.”

The future is bright for Callum. Congratulations on your much-deserved win!
