Our Impact Report 2024/25

Our inaugural Impact Report celebrates our first sustainability milestones. Supporting a brighter future for all at National Care Group.

Welcome to our Impact Report

This is our first-ever Impact Report, covering our progress across the 2024/25 financial year. It captures the first sustainability steps we’ve made, including the impact we’ve had across our four Corporate Social Responsibility strategy pillars; community, environment, growth and people.

We have published this report in July 2025 and includes data and updates from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025.

It has been created in partnership with members of the National Care Group Corporate Social Responsibility Committee. It was authored by the Marketing Team with valued input from colleagues and people supported across the organisation.

Together, we’ve brought to life the progress, decisions and steps that are shaping and supporting a brighter future for all at National Care Group.

The highlights of our year

Improved Compliance

We ended the year with an average compliance rating of 83%, and Regent College maintained its ‘Good’ rating with Ofsted.

Living Our Best Lives

A total of 105 people logged a volunteering interaction on Nourish last year, and 100% of learners at Regent College participate in some form of volunteering.

New Carbon Reduction Strategy

A five-year carbon reduction strategy is now underway – read more about it on page 12 of the report.

Increased Recycling

We are making progress toward the key performance indicators (KPIs) of our carbon reduction plans through enhanced waste management. Following a recycling trial at Shelton Care, they have cut their CO₂ emissions from 11.051 tonnes to just 2 tonnes annually—an 82% reduction, measured by bedroom in the residential services.

Saving Water

New water-saving devices installed at Shelton Care have reduced usage by nearly 1,000 cubic metres, saving 151 kg of CO₂ annually. We aim to install a further 408 across the estate, projected to save 617 kg CO₂ over the next five years.

Supporting More People

We proudly developed and opened four new supported living services, creating 14 new tenancies and 30 new jobs in 2024/25. This was in addition to the expansion of existing services. Together, our growth has resulted in the creation of 57 new packages of support in 2024/25.

Improved Colleague Retention

The people section of the report celebrates our 2,978 colleagues. Colleague numbers were boosted thanks to the acquisition of Apple House, along with an improved retention rate of 3.69% year-over-year.

Commitment to a Brighter Future

At National Care Group, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint, minimising our contribution to landfill waste, utilising sustainable energy sources, and conserving water. We aim to achieve net-zero emissions across the National Care Group’s estate by 2050.
