International Week of Happiness at Work

Meet our Chief Happiness Officer, Paula Wilson

Meet Paula, National Care Group’s colleague appointed Chief Happiness Officer (CHO).

Support worker Paula has been selected following a campaign to celebrate colleagues who bring the most happiness to work.

We asked colleagues during International Week of Happiness at Work (23-27 Sep) to tell us about those who make them the happiest at work and who they would appoint as CHO, given the chance.

Paula, from our Steps services in Rotherham, was nominated by team leader Stacey.  She was described as someone who oozes positivity, impacting every room she enters. Paula is everyone’s ‘go-to’ person for advice or a chat and finds the positive in all situations.

“Paula is the happiest person I know, adored by all who live at Steps. She also throws the best parties and is known as the party queen!”

Our judges felt Paula fit the role perfectly, and our search for National Care Group’s CHO was complete. Congratulations to Paula on her new appointment!

Both Paula and Stacey were gifted shopping vouchers and enjoyed a celebratory day together!

Regional Happiness Officers

From reading all the nominations, the judges realised that with so much happiness being spread, there was a need to recruit a whole team. Five Regional Happiness Officers (RHOs) were also appointed:

North Region RHO  – ROMAN MORAWASKI, Support Worker, Newfield View

Central Region RHO – PAULA GRUFFERTY, Support Worker Yew Tree House

South East Region RHO  – ANGELA CARTER, Support Worker, Endurance Care Broadstairs

South West & Wales Region RHO – LYNETTE POOL, Support Worker, Integra Riverside

Support Function RHO – KIRSTY STICKLEY, Regional Trainer

Well done to you all!

Having good colleagues around is a key ingredient for happiness at work. Those who make you feel accepted, valued and included – all factors for making someone happy!

The impact our colleagues have on one another shone through in the nominations we received, demonstrating how lucky we are to have these people in abundance across the organisation.
