We are pleased to report that the roll out of COVID–19 vaccinations across National Care Group has started and is beginning to make good progress.

Already 42% of our colleagues in Wales have been vaccinated and in England the first of our colleagues in Stoke on Trent have received the vaccine with more scheduled for next week. In other regions vaccinations at our Abbeyvale service in County Durham are expected to start during w/c January 11th, while services in other regions are beginning to receive information requests in preparation for their vaccinations.

In Stoke on Trent, Registered Manager, Jorge Finn who was amongst the first to receive the vaccine said: “The vaccine itself took only seconds to administer and didn’t cause me or my colleagues any pain or immediate side effects. The NHS staff monitored us for 15 minutes after receipt of the vaccine, as this tends to be the timeframe where someone may experience an allergic reaction. From arriving, I was out of the door and in my car within 20 minutes. I even got a sticker!"

Jorge also praised the vaccination team saying: "The NHS workers were both compassionate and professional in their approach towards us."
