NCG's Quality Director raises over £1,500 for charity

National Care Group's Quality Director sky dives for cancer charities!

At National Care Group we're busy taking bets that the next James Bond is our very own Quality Director, Mike Cleasby, after he faced his fears and launched himself out of an aeroplane recently to bravely raise funds for cancer charities in memory of his parents.

With a current total of over £1,700, the support of his gallant feat has been overwhelming and Mike couldn't be more delighted.

Mike said; "I took a days annual leave to step out of my comfort zone and raise money for two charities close to my heart. Those who know me understand I have a fear of heights. Having now lost both parents to cancer I decided to summon an inner strength and jump out of an aeroplane in their memory!

Conditions on the day were questionable but the plane still made take-off.

"I arrived at the airfield expecting not to jump due to the high winds on the day. Apparently the answer was to go a little higher! (16,500ft) to compensate for the wind. I have to say the wind took my breath away but I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was an honour to raise funds for two great charities."

Mike has an impressive social care career story spanning over twenty years and is an inspiration to his colleagues on a daily basis.

"My message to everyone is that we're often stronger and more resilient than we think. Don’t be afraid to take that leap of faith to challenge yourself, especially if it can make a difference to someone's life."
