OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD | December’s Winners


National Care Group’s Outstanding Achievement Award Winners for December are The Wellesley View Team from Shelton Care in Stoke on Trent and June Huntley from NCG's Deepdale Rehabilitation Centre in Preston.


The Wellesley View Team were nominated by their service manager Jake Durham for the way they pulled together and remarkably managed end of life care for a person they supported. They went out of their way to complete a specialist course to manage end of life care so they could deliver the best quality service and support, and organised so many special things for her including a birthday party and weekend away to Blackpool.



The team were presented with their award and prizes by James Allen, National Care Group's Chief Executive.


National Care Group's Chief Financial Officer, David Rowe-Bewick, travelled to Preston to present December's second Outstanding Achievement Award Winner, June Huntley, with her award and prize.



June was nominated by regional operations director, Rob Tooze, for relocating from the north east to another National Care Group service in Somerset to offer support and leadership in the absence of a manager. June was commended for her dedication; working extended days to ensure medication monitoring, ensuring support worker colleagues were organised and directed, and mentoring on a one to one basis to help the team build their skills and confidence.


Other amazing colleagues who were nominated in December and should be recognised for their achievements include:


The Walliscote Road Team, Oaklea Care, who were nominated by their registered manager Kate Harvey for their collaborative effort in helping five new people move into their new home. Each taking time to understand each person and their needs resulting in drastic improvements to their lives and wellbeing.
