Alex started working within health and social care caring for people in hospitals. Working wards such as gastroenterology. Supporting people with acute needs that often arose from substance misuse and alcohol dependency, as well as working on a respiratory ward.
Alex moved from the NHS to work in the community, working for a specialist provider for those living with complex health needs; creating tailor-made packages consisting of highly trained staff teams for those living with a spinal cord or an acquired brain injury, focusing on each individual outcomes. This work involved partnership working with a nursing team due to the majority of individuals being dependent on mechanical ventilation. During his time with this provider, Alex held a number of different roles and contributed to 10% of the businesses growth targets, moving into managing each discharge the organisation completed. Setting up each provision and team prior to the operational team having full responsibility.
Alex then took a quality management role within social care moving to operations management within the organisation for the entire domiciliary arm of the business, as well as operating residential and supported living services. Improving CQC and commissioner ratings. Upon acquisition of this business, Alex spent time troubleshooting services in recovery across the south of England focusing on the creation and implementation of processes, finical viability and developing the experience for those living within these services.
Alex was responsible for supporting the development of all new built flat scheme services within the East of England before taking a role within National Care Group.
Here Alex has supported the organisation with the implementation of governance systems as well as focusing on service and quality improvement, the implementation of management structures and the development of new services. Supporting a number of acquisitions and de-registrations.
Alex has also completed consultancy work with other providers supporting their quality improvement and CQC readiness, as well as consulting a specific project involving the development of a specialist discharge unit in Yorkshire. Throughout Alex has achieved an improvement of service delivery for both individuals, organisational culture and company key performance indicators.
