With 29 years of experience in the care sector, Mike has the knowledge and understanding of the quality and standards required to be a successful care provider.
He spent 19 of those years working within a local authority, where he directly managed a range of services, including residential and day services. In addition, he played a major part in the development of the Education, Health and Care (EHC) pathway, which was developed to support children and young people’s special educational, health and social care needs.
He has also worked as Regional Manager and, later the Head of Quality at the Priory Group, where he oversaw a number of regions including North England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
When looking for his next role, Mike was attracted to the NGC by the prospect of joining a new national provider of care and was excited about being part of our journey to become one of the best care providers in the UK.
As the Quality Director at National Care Group, Mike is responsible for:
- Overseeing compliance of all regulated services
- Helping to embed person-centred approaches
- Developing robust quality and governance systems
- Ensuring our policies are up to date
- Reviewing safeguarding and CQC notifications
